Custom Calling Features

Custom Calling Features allow customers to customize their telephone service to meet their needs. Calling features give customers control over all incoming and outgoing calls. Call your local business office to add a custom calling feature to your line! Several of these services work without any special equipment on your premise, while others (like Caller ID) require compatible equipment which can be purchased at many local retailers. Tailor your phone service with any or all of these popular Custom Calling Features:


Call Waiting alerts you to an incoming call – with a soft beep – when you are already on the line and allows you to answer the second call after putting the first call on hold.

Call Forwarding lets important calls follow you by transferring all incoming calls to another phone number that you choose – even a pager or cellular phone number.

Three-Way Calling lets you talk on the telephone with two other people in different locations at the same time. It doesn’t matter if the connecting phone numbers are local or long distance calls.

Automatic Call Back allows you to easily get through to a busy line. When you reach a busy signal, you can activate Automatic Call Back and your line will keep dialing that busy phone number for up to thirty (30) minutes. A special ring will notify you when the busy line becomes available and, when you pick up the handset, you will automatically be connected to your party.

Automatic Redial allows you to place a call to the phone number of the last incoming call to your line, whether you answered this call or not. You may review the phone number of the last incoming call prior to activating Automatic Redial.

Caller ID displays the phone number of the person calling before you answer the telephone. Caller ID also stores the phone number, as well as the date and time, of each incoming call so you can review this log later. Caller ID requires the purchase of compatible equipment, which is available through many retailers.

Customer-Originated Trace allows you to identify harassing callers (with the joint cooperation of your local law enforcement agency and Laurel Highland Telephone Company) by tracing the phone number of the last incoming call to your line.

Deluxe Caller ID displays both the name and phone number of the person calling before you answer the telephone. Deluxe Caller ID also stores the name and phone number, as well as the date and time, of each incoming call so you can review this log later. Deluxe Caller ID requires the purchase of compatible equipment, which is available through many retailers.

Selective Call Acceptance lets you select which calls ring through during times when you would rather not be disturbed by all calls. Your acceptance list can hold up to 32 phone numbers. When you turn this service on, only those callers on your acceptance list will ring through.

Selective Call Forwarding lets you select which calls are forwarded during times when you don’t want to forward all calls. Your forwarding list can hold up to 32 phone numbers. When you turn this service on, only those callers on your forwarding list are forwarded to another phone number that you choose.

Selective Call Rejection lets you select which calls are blocked during times when you would rather not be disturbed by all calls. Your rejection list can hold up to 32 phone numbers. When you turn this service on, only those callers on your rejection list are routed to an announcement stating that you do not wish to receive their calls at that time.

Selective Distinctive Ringing announces important callers with a special ring pattern (typically two short rings). Your distinctive ringing list can hold up to 32 phone numbers. When you turn this service on, only those callers on your distinctive ringing list are announced with a special ring pattern.

Speed Calling – 8 lets you dial important phone numbers quickly, easily, and accurately by allowing you to set up your line so that you only need to dial one digit to make local or long distance phone calls. Speed Calling-8 offers you an eight number list (that uses one-digit access codes 2 through 9).

Speed Calling – 30 lets you dial important phone numbers quickly, easily, and accurately by allowing you to set up your line so that you only need to dial two digits to make local or long distance phone calls. Speed Calling-30 offers you a thirty number list (that uses two-digit access codes 20 through 49).
